Top 5 Web series to watch in September 2022

People from Corona have become used to watching movies.  Now even those people who have never mourned for films, watch the movies.  But now everyone is in the same race as to which new movie has finally come out and which one of them has to be seen. But now is the time when more web series are being released than films, so we all are in search of them. The month of August 2022 saw things get closer to being normal, with theatres reopening in the city and some big-budget movies going for theatrical releases. But the OTT trend hasn’t shown any signs of dying down. A lot of people still prefer to watch movies, and web series, from the comfort of their homes. September 2022 promises to be good, with a slew of movies and web series scheduled in the first half of the month that you can watch. If you’ve got your OTT subscriptions, and are ready to binge-watch ,  we have got top 5 series  just what you need.

Money Heist season 5

It is a Spanish series that was aired on Netflix in 2017. This year the series is coming back with the fifth season. It will premiere on Netflix in two parts one in September and the other in December 2021. It will contain 10 episodes. It is based on an unusual group of robbers who have attempted to execute the finest robbery in Spanish history which is stealing 2.4 billion euros from the Royal Mint of Spain. Robbers have become better at holding the fort, they are sharper and snazzier. The season also stands out for its brilliant backstories we never knew we needed. Money Heist Season 5 is a full-on war series. It explores trust and evolves with new learnings for both its characters and the audience. You don’t get the chance to miss Berlin (who died in season 2) as the makers continue with the flashbacks often. May be to let even a new viewer be engaged and not feel alienated throughout the new season. You are also treated with glimpses into Tokyo’s life and the reason behind that big ‘yes’ to the professor.

Cinderella

Continuing the trend of live-action remakes of Disney animated movies, with movies like Beauty And The Beast (2017) and Aladdin (2019), here’s Cinderella. It is a modern retelling of the classic fairy tale that we loved as kids. Globally renowned singer Camila Cabello has been cast in the titular role and the movie is being helmed by the writer of the Pitch Perfect movies, Kay Cannon. The latest ‘Cinderella’ movie has some interesting ideas here and there, but they are muddled in what is essentially a vehicle for a popstar and another formulaic addition to a growing streaming platform.

Prison Break

The story revolves around two brothers; one is Lincoln Burrow, and the other is Michael Scofield. Burrow was sentenced to death for a crime that he had never committed, and Scofield has devised a brief plan to help his brother escape from the prison and clear his name. Prison break is most nail biting experience. You are always on the edge of your seat wondering what the hell is happening ? whats gonna happen ? screwed !! It is almost impossible to leave the series in between, anywhere!

Black Widow

Black Widow is an adequate return to the movies for Marvel. It’s perhaps one of the more serious and dialogue-heavy entries of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Rachel Weisz bear a convincing enough dynamic and carry a straightforward spy narrative with decent emotional depth. Per the Marvel norm, the action delivers plentiful fast-paced thrills and the film isn’t short of comedic relief, often poking fun at old Marvel character tropes and allowing David Harbor to get absolutely lost in his role; he’s rather delightful and I hope to see more of him in later media. This movie allows the audience a peek at the famed past of Black Widow as a Russian assassin. Continuing with “The Family” trend, started by F9, this movie also introduces the family of Black Widow. It’s one of the movies to watch on OTT .

Mumbai Diaries 26/11

The terrorist attacks in Mumbai, on 26 November 2008, have been documented in multiple Bollywood and Hollywood films. This web series is slightly different in that it focuses on the staff of a hospital who are acting as first responders during the attacks. Mumbai Diaries 26/11 recreates a fictional version of the most diabolical terror strike on the city on 26th November 2008. The show drives its story from the perspective of a government hospital that eventually becomes the battleground between the cops, doctors and the terrorists. The series stars Mohit Raina, Konkona Sen Sharma and Shreya Dhanwanthary in lead roles and will have 8 episodes. The location lends itself to a more humane, rational and compassionate view of the crises that led to the death of 174 persons (including nine attackers), as well as a melodramatic, blood-soaked narrative of the mind-numbing night. The immaculate casting adds to the quality of writing. The body language of the actors and proficient use of medical terms lend an air of authenticity to the proceedings.
